Raised prices 12% across the board. Lost 3 customers out of 400.

Was terrified to raise prices. Put it off for two years. Finally did it — 12% across all services. Sent a letter explaining rising costs. Lost 3 customers, all of whom were our lowest-margin accounts anyway. Should have done this a year ago. If you're scared to raise prices, just do it.

We raised 10% last year and had the same experience. The customers who leave over a price increase are almost always the difficult ones. Good riddance.
12% price increase on the same cost base is massive for your bottom line. On $800K revenue that's an extra $96K going almost entirely to profit. Nice work.

In ecom we A/B test prices constantly. 10-15% increases rarely move the needle on churn in service businesses because switching costs are high. Your customers don't want to find a new provider — they just want to complain a little and then pay it.
