QuickBooks Online vs QuickBooks Desktop — stop using Desktop, seriously

I do bookkeeping for 14 small businesses. The ones still on QuickBooks Desktop are a nightmare. No cloud access, manual backups that never happen, can't integrate with anything modern. If you're still on Desktop, please switch to QBO. Your bookkeeper will thank you. Rant over.

I switched from Desktop to Online last year and it was painful for about 2 weeks. Now I can't imagine going back. Being able to check my numbers from my phone is worth it alone.

Counterpoint: QBO is getting more expensive every year and they keep removing features to upsell you to higher tiers. I understand the cloud argument but Intuit's pricing strategy is predatory.

Fair point on pricing. But the alternative is Desktop which Intuit is slowly killing anyway. They stopped selling it to new users. The writing is on the wall.
