How much are you paying office managers/CSRs in 2026?

Hiring an office manager for my HVAC company. She'd handle phones, scheduling, invoicing, light bookkeeping. Full time, in-office. I'm in a mid-cost-of-living metro. What should I be offering? I was thinking $20-22/hr but not sure if that's competitive.

For that role with bookkeeping included, $22-25/hr minimum. Under $22 and you'll get applicants who can answer phones but can't touch QuickBooks. The bookkeeping piece adds real value — pay for it.
